Again, we were deep into rewiring and motor remounting some other "issues" become more obvious.
One of these issues was the original vacuum powered wipers. While the system did work (ish) it has some drawbacks. One speed = (read as barely moves) and may not work if you step on the gas to pass that truck in the rain. We considered refurbishing the original with new internals and lubrication but the drawbacks were too great. So as before, out with the old...
And in with the new - shiny - improved electric model.
And the obvious placement of the knob.
We now have a much more reliable wiper system with more speeds than on and off.
Note: see that little tiny "rust colored" spot on the windshield center bar? Yah, neither did we. This will be important in a future project...
